Expecting Final Fantasy Versus XIII to be at E3 2012 this year? Thought it made sense and figured that Square Enix had to finally show the title at the event? I mean... Final Fantasy XIII-2 has been out for several months now so it's Versus time! Right? Well guess what? According to EGM Now. The game won't be there. With that said... Square Enix has released a list of titles that will be guaranteed to be at E3.
It's worth noting that FInal Fantasy XIV 2.0 is not on this list, which will be at the show in trailer form, and Type-0 is not listed as well. The titles listed above are titles you can view at Square Enix's booth and see by appointment.  Forum Discussion

A couple of days ago, Square Enix announced that "Somnus" from Final Fantasy Versus XIII would be an available track to download in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. The dlc is now available and footage of it has been uploaded to youtube. Check out the video below!
According to Theatrhythm's official site, we will be getting the battle theme to FFVI, Madoushi no Tou from FFII, and Hametsu e no Shisha from FFIX as a part of their 4th round of DLC being offered. As if that wasn't enough.. Yoko Shimomura’s “Somnus” from Final Fantasy Versus will also be available for purchase. Good News!

Tetsuya Nomura Not Allowed To Talk About Final Fantasy Versus XIII

It's been a while since we had any news on Final Fantasy Versus XIII. So what is the latest? Here's a translated quote from the Tetsuya Nomura KH:3D Famitsu interview.
Famitsu: By the way, we previously asked you about an announcement regarding Final Fantasy Versus XIII, is there any information you can share about when that would be? So basically... The higher ups at Square Enix won't let Tetsuya Nomura talk about the game. It doesn't have anything to do with the game's development so what gives? Well, based on the quote. It doesn't sound like something that will take a very long time since he is almost finished preparing the next batch of news. It sounds as if there maybe other teams at Square Enix who are ready to start talking about their titles as well. So instead of announcing them all in one blow, they would rather spread them out. Perhaps the game is coming out on the XB360 and Wii U? In the case of Wii U, Nintendo has been making many developers sign strict NDA's so perhaps that has something to do with it? When do you think Versus will appear? When you think the game will come out? The end of January brought us a massive game for FFU: Final Fantasy XIII-2. This show, Darryl is join by Colin, Lauren, and David and they spend an hour talking about how the game panned out. In case you're not far into the game, don't worry; the group keeps the show spoiler free! The quartet start off the discussion about the story, the characters and their development. This may shock some people but Famitsu has an interview with Tetsuya Nomura this week. The shocking part? Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Before we get to Final Fantasy Versus XIII... Nomura confirmed that the 1st Production Department is working on Final Fantasy X HD. As for Versus... Nomura says that the game has improved a lot since last year's trailer, which was shown at the 1st Production Department Premiere Event. The graphics have been taken up a notch. He also tells us that Versus XIII will have a mix of real time and pre-rendered cutscenes as well. The ratio is said to be 7:3, to which the later being CG FMV created by Visual Works. The pre-rendered scenes won't get in the way of the gameplay itself, which is why the scene between Noctis and Stella has been switched to a pre-rendered scene. As for when we will see the title next? Nomura says that while an event has not yet been scheduled(details are still being worked out here), the next time we see the game, it will be running on an actual PS3. Kitase on Versus XIII: “People will be excited when they next see it”

In 2011, Final Fantasy Versus XIII showed up in January and then for the rest of the year, we've only received a few minor details about the game. We were also told that once Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Type-0 come out, it will be Versus XIII's turn as well. Well, both games are out in Japan now and it's 2012. So what is up?
In a interview with EDGE. Yoshinori Kitase, said the following: “… Then there’s Versus XIII, which is currently in development. We released a trailer in January and since then there has been nothing, but I can assure you the team is working extremely hard on it and I think people will be excited when they next see it.” And there you have it! Nothing new really but the one question remains. When will we see it next? EDIT: Vandal.net have edited their article and it now says that there are no localisation plans for Final Fantasy Type-0. Seems like we'll have to wait for official word from Square Enix before we start getting our hopes up
In a recent interview posted by vandal.net, Yoshinori Kitase has given an update on other titles within the FNC universe. Provided that the translation holds; concerning Final Fantasy Type-0, Kitase has confirmed that the much awaited localization is underway! Kitase also promised that additional information on the title will be announced soon. As for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Kitase commented that they are hard at work to complete the game. He also states that additional information will be released in the coming months. Finally Kitase mentions that now the focus of the series is on Type-0 (Localization) and Versus. Forum Discussion
