The series of FFXIII is called Fabula Nova Crystallis, and will consist of three games:

• Final Fantasy XIII
• Final Fantasy Agito XIII
• Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Fabula Nova Crystallis is latin for "The new tale of the crystal."

While the three games are all part of the same series, they all will be relatively unrelated in the sense that the story, characters, and worlds will all be different, however they will all be based on and connected by myths.

Fabula Nova Crystallis was announced at Square Enix's E3 2006 Press Conference in Los Angeles on May 8.
