An Achievements list for Final Fantasy XIII has appeared on Xbox.com for a Japanese version of the game. The list of achievements can be seen here. According to XNEWS, almost all previous games which have had Japanese achievements listed on the xbox.com website, were eventually announced for Japan.
Considering Final Fantasy XIII has already been made for the Xbox 360, and the Japanese recordings have already been done, it would make sense for Square Enix to do this as it would be relatively inexpensive to do. Forum Discussion
In a interview with Gamasutra, Yoich Wada was asked about Final Fantasy XIII's reception.
Now that Final Fantasy XIII has launched globally, in the end were you satisfied with its performance and the audience reaction to the title? YW: Looking at the numbers alone, it is pretty good, because we were able to release the latest Final Fantasy in all three markets of Japan, United States, and Europe in a very short period of time, and we were able to reach 5 million units rapidly -- and I think this product will grow further. But when it comes to the customers' reaction to the quality of the game, some value it highly and some are not very happy with it. What do you think about how the game turned out? YW: I think this is a product that was able to meet the expectations for those who know Final Fantasy. There are all kinds of games around in the market today. Should Final Fantasy become a new type of the game or should Final Fantasy not become a new type of game? The customers have different opinions. It's very difficult to determine which way it should go. What do you think? Should Final Fantasy become a new type of game? Despite no E3 showing, Final Fantasy Versus XIII has finally broken cover with an assortment of gameplay details. All that, and discussion of pirated versions of Dissidia, Final Fantasy Agito XIII hitting the development back burner, and Final Fantasy XIV not hitting the Xbox 360 at all, on this episode of Final Fantasy Union.

To add to the latest news of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Nomura revealed to Dengeki Playstation a couple of other details about the game's development.

The site has been long over due for a site redesign, so I am excited to launch the new version of the site.
Some of the things to note are the options at the bottom for the layout. You can expand the layout so that it fit's your browser's screen width, whether it be smaller/larger than the fixed width layout. Also you can use a simplified version of the layout which does not have shadows and rounded edges(The shadows and rounded edges only work in Mozilla/Webkit browsers). You can also expand/collapse the menu categories in case there is a category which does not interest you, it won't waste any space for you. I hope everyone enjoys the new layout. Forum Discussion

Initial comments: Development is advancing smoothly though a lot of technical issues prevented it from showing at E3 this year. Final Fantasy Agito XIII to have Brutal War Depictions

Director Hajime Tabata shares some information about the development of Final Fantasy Agito XIII. Tabata says "The 3rd Birthday takes priority, but development is still steadily progressing. I believe it will be an FF that differs from the image fans have." He elaborates on this "We're making it into a game where you can feel the true pain and weight as a war story. Because it has some harsh portrayals, Kitase is frequently making checks." Kitase then gives an example of this "There are parts where you see a soldier burned and falling over after being struck by fire. Initially, I warned them to not go too far in their expressions, but now I'm telling them to do whatever they want."
Sounds like the game is indeed different than what we have previously expected. TGS should prove to be pretty crazy. Forum Discussion

Along with the latest Versus XIII news, Yoko Shimomura, who is known for composing the music for Kingdom Hearts franchise, shared a little bit of info about the music for Versus XIII.
"The development staff is currently forming a framework for the game's music. Shimomura noted that they have to be careful about making too firm an image, as the music may then not end up fitting with the game. They're currently considering the possibilities for many different music types, a phase of development that she enjoys. She said that reading all the passionate message about Versus XIII on blogs and so-forth, she understands how anticipated the game is." Forum Discussion
