Square Enix is planning to release Final Fantasy XIII Soundtrack PLUS, which will feature background music that was added to the overseas version of the game (not included in the January compilation) and will have new arrangements by composer Masashi Hamauzu.

The FFXIII OST + version will be available May 26 at ¥2,500. Pre-orders are now being taken at the Square Enix online shop.

According to VGChartz, in its first week, Final Fantasy XIII has sold approximately 1.2 million copies across North America and Europe, which brings the worldwide total sales to around 3 million. Of those 1.2 million copies sold, 61% were sold on the PS3, and 39% were on the Xbox 360.

Game Informer have interviewed producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama about the the process and the challenges involved in making Final Fantasy XIII.

The interview also confirms that there are still more titles in the Fabula Nova Crystallis project that have not been announced.

Square Enix has announced that over 5 million copies of FFXIII have shipped worldwide. 3 million of which were shipped for the North American and Europe releases.

Square Enix has also announced that total worldwide shipments for the Final Fantasy franchise have now topped the 96 million units.
