New FF Versus XIII Trailer Translation

FXN Staffers Steiner and Brass2TheMax combined efforts once more to bring us a translation of the newer of the two Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer. After getting his hands on the background music, "Somnus", Steiner could finally hear the lyrics crystal clear, and with it, wrote his definitive translation. Thanks to Brass2TheMax for subbing.

Online Solution for Renting FFXIII?

Forever-Fantasy.net has translated what was discussed at Square Enix's recent stockholders meeting in Japan. Near the end of the meeting there was a short question and answer period, in which Square Enix President Yoichi Wada took part in:

Q: FF13 is on its way, but in the current game market the more you ship the more your titles end up in used game stores, returning no profit to the developer. Given that, would it be possible for you to rent games out similar to movies?

A: Your opinion is very important, thank you very much.

The current generation of games all incorporate some type of network connectivity, which means almost all need online resources. Even titles without online play have online rankings, leaderboards and so on.

In correspondence with the online component, we believe the restrictions of physical media leading to the used game sales problem can be worked out.

Rather than renting out the physical media of titles, we're thinking more along the lines of an online solution. ~Square Enix

What this could mean is anyone's guess.

Square's new Private Event: DKΣ3713

Square Enix has announced a Private Party for 2008 called DKΣ3713. The name seems faily odd, however Forever Fantasy has theorized what it could represent.

3 - Kingdom Hearts 3, The 3rd Birthday
7 - Final Fantasy 7 (Advent Children Complete)
13 - Final Fantasy 13

No Final Fantasy XIII Demo at E3 2008

This was sort of expected, however just for confirmation, Square Enix North America's PR Department debunked the on going rumour that we would be seeing a demo at this year's E3.

"We have no plans whatsoever to intro a playable demo or any demo at E3 on the FFXIII project."

FXN Final Fantasy XIII Podcast: Episode 8

The FXN crew are back hitting home the 8th episode of the FXN Final Fantasy XIII Podcast. The crew are joined by Into the Score podcast host Kenley Kristofferson for discussion over Square Enix coming to E3 2008, and Final Fantasy Agito XIII possibly being cancelled.

Kenley also guest hosts this episodes music segments, and brings a little bit of Into the Score with him as well. The show had been delayed to due opening FinalFantasyXIII.net.

FinalFantasyXIII.net Now Open!

At long last, FinalFantasyXIII.net is open! The newest site on the FXN Network, and sister site to FF-XIII.net itself, FinalFantasyXIII.net is online and pretty much fully functional.

What's to check out on the site? An all new gallery, newly rewritten content pages, a beautiful layout, and a lot of content to come. The new site is very community oriented, as we'll be hosting contests and competitions, taking in and showing off user submitted content (amvs, graphics, etc., etc.) and lots more to come.

The new site has completely redone content, and an great new layout. Thanks to hard work by Tian, Lauren, Colin (Hardedge) and Shar (Monkey), and I did my part too.

Oddly enough the entire time the new site has been in development (since January) there has been very little FFXIII news. Let's hope with the opening of the new site we get some news!

FXN: FF-illumina.net Interview

This has been planned to be posted on FinalFantasyXIII.net when it opened, but since it's been delayed up until now, I think it's better I post this now.

Earlier in May, FF-illumina.net sat down with three staffers of FinalFantasyXIII.net, the three being Lauren, Colin and myself (Kyle), for an interview. Along with this, they also awarded FinalFantasyXIII.net, and basically FXN itself, with an Illumina Award, for "Innovative Original Content".

FF-illumina has been an affiliate of the up-coming FinalFantasyXIII.net since around February, and has been shown the layout as it was developed since then. Myself and the FXN staff would like to thank FF-illumina.net for the interview and award, we very much appreciate it.

As for FinalFantasyXIII.net, look for it opening this week, as everything is pretty much complete now, all the back breaking labour is now finished.

Also, the FXN Final Fantasy XIII Podcast will likely be a day late, I apologize for the inconvenience. I spent a magnitude of my time this past weekend working on FinalFantasyXIII.net.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII Canceled?

Square Enix announced their finances for their 2008 fiscal year. To their dismay, they are seeing a loss of 3 billion yen ($29 million). To compensate for their losses, President of Square Enix Yoichi Wada says that they will be canceling a "revolutionary mobile development." Considering all the reports of Final Fantasy Agito XIII have been extremely positive, and all haling it's technical supremacy, Final Fantasy Agito XIII could be on the chopping block.

E3 2008 Floor Plan

The Floor plan for this year's E3 has been released, and the image shows the relative size of Square Enix's booth.

No Games Line-up for Square Enix has been announced yet, but keep your eyes on the screen, because its only a matter of time before we get our hands on it.

Square Enix to be at E3 2008

Square Enix is now showing up on the list of companies at E3 2008. Square Enix hasn't announced any games lists yet, though last year they did not have a very large showing. For the most part it was just their casual games section.

FXN FInal Fantasy XIII Podcast: Episode 6

If there are two things you can count on with the FXN Final Fantasy XIII Podcast, it is that it's big, and it gets online at the last second. In the nick of time once again, the FXN Final Fantasy XIII Podcast is kicking down the door with Kyle David and Jamie covering all the latest news and community discussions on Final Fantasy XIII. The FXN Crew has also recruited is new official fourth voice for the show, but who could it be? Who ever it is, the new complete crew also rip right into Crisis Core.

FFXIII recording from Closed Mega Theater

More left overs from the Square Enix Closed Mega Theatre have surfaced, this time an audio recording of the Final Fantasy XIII trailer. You can hear the audio recording here, on that page click on vip783377.mp3. The XIII trailer starts are about 18 seconds in, after the Advent Children Complete trailer ends.

A clip from the TGS 07 closed mega theatre trailer has surfaced. The clip is an off camera video, but you can still see some images of the Blonde Haired Girl in motion.
